Congratulations on your upcoming delivery! Hopefully, you are well on your way to obtaining all you need for your baby season. When I was having my first few kiddos, we were on a tight budget, but that didn’t stop me from scouring thrift stores and discount stores for the things I thought were must-haves. Here are just a few ideas for your baby registry that will make a world of difference for you as you mother your little one.
1 ~ Video Baby Monitor ~ Consider requesting this as a baby shower gift and you will rest easy as you ‘do life’ with your baby “out of sight,” so to speak. There are so many types available with features that make them a must have item. Make sure the sound quality is exceptional to help you distinguish what you’re hearing.
2 ~ Changing Table ~ Having a changing table for diaper changes makes things flow so much easier. If you stock your changing table with the typical necessities (diapers, wipes, hand sanitizer, extra clothes, etc), you can handle the worst diaper changes with minimal effort. As a matter of fact, if you live in a two-story home, consider having two changing tables on your registry to ensure both levels are user friendly for both mom and baby.
3 ~ Wrap/Baby Sling ~ Having baby attached to you can help you get things done while comforting baby. Let’s face it, sometimes baby needs mom and mom needs to get work done, and that’s where multi-tasking falls into place. There are many types of wraps and slings out there so check out the reviews and ratings then, make your preferences known.
4 ~ Nursing Apparel ~ If you are planning to breastfeed your baby, having the right kind of clothing makes it that much easier. I really appreciated having purchased a few nursing tops at the thrifts stores that I searched high and low for. They were hard to come by but it was well worth it. If your budget allows, consider purchasing a few tops and dresses to get your through your nursing season on your registry.
5 ~ Rocking Chair/Glider ~ This in itself was great for feeding sessions and plain old snuggle time. And, not to mention, that it can do double-duty, if you snuggle your other little ones in it as well. Have a table right beside your rocker with a drink, books, your phone, and other needed items to avoid having to get up once you’re settled in with baby.
Most department stores have made setting up a baby registry a breeze for the expectant couple. I hope this gets you off to a great start with your new little one. If I have left off some great ideas, feel free to comment below and I’ll be sure to amend my list with your suggestions, being sure to give you credit. Thanks for reading.
